Following the aspects here discussed will lead to better conversations with young people, reach each individual with the help of the whole leadership group, and encourage a real exchange of thoughts and opinions, thus communicating our worldview in a persuasive way. Topics receiving attention are preschool and kindergarten education, the regular 10 year polytechnical school program, special schools for handicapped children, and the program of apprenticeships available to every youth after leaving school. Such wide-ranging thinking is only possible when someone has clearly understood that peace ultimately depends on the strength of socialism, and that each individual at his workplace can contribute to the strengthening of socialism. Truth, rational thinking and objective knowledge, the foundation stones of Western Civilization, were denounced by Nazified students and professors in favor of mysticism, speculation and collective thinking toward a common goal — the pursuit of a glorious future for Germany. The first condition will be discussed briefly.

Culture wars Before reunification, the show was only known to East Germans, but since then it has amassed a number of West German admirers, not only for its skillful craft, but the way it offers a political funhouse mirror of Western spy films. Fenemore shows that youth culture is not "left" just because it deviates from the norm. This must be made clear to young people. Here, too, Marxism-Leninism is the foundation of our actions, and just as Marx and Engels were models, so must we set a personal example. Thousands of specialists, scientists, experienced journalists, artists, etc. If we realize that the knowledge young people have of Marxism-Leninism does not automatically affect their behavior, that it must become part of their personality, we will understand that such an effect can only occur when young people clearly understand the real or potential function of such knowledge in their own lives.

Accordingly, the FDJ was run on a strictly hierarchical and centralized basis. Particular attention will be given to the relationship between the development of a socialist class consciousness on the one hand, and the social activity of young workers on the other hand. The factors that lead to the acceptance or rejection of something presented by the propagandist can change relatively rapidly. It was so successful that it became the model for all subsequent concentration camps, and there would be hundreds of them. It is therefore important that our persuasive work is appropriate to the historic standards of our age!

Youth in the GDR book

Experienced propagandists do not avoid such tough questions, but rather encourage young people to talk about their problems, and through discussion come to a Marxist-Leninist understanding of them.

While her position as a loyal dissident was not easy, it was undeniably a source of strength. The Bezirk and Kreis secretariats constituted the real seats of decision-making power at regional and district level respectively.

A functionary active in propaganda can achieve this only when he constantly considers why it is relevant to young people. We therefore see that that providing rational foundations to stabilize the ideological foundations of young people is absolutely necessary in the work of political propaganda, and that it leads to political firmness and a readiness to fight.

In another episode, a CIA agent clambers around a German castle in a full ninja-style bodysuit. Contradictions are the driving force of development, and therefore cannot be avoided in our practical, realistic ideological work.

Experienced propagandists thus realize that, in the ideological work of transmitting Marxism-Leninism, the questions and conclusions youth have result from their own lives.

The methods of presentation determine a large part of the effectiveness. Again, the exploration takes on greater force for being cast from inside a society whose ideology dismissed despair as a luxury. It was responsible for cadre selection within the organization and directly instructed the Bezirk regional leaderships.

A high level of ideological work in FDJ collectives is therefore also an effective weapon in fighting the influence of bourgeois ideology. The introduction indicates the scope of educational objectives within national and international contexts.

One such group based at the University of Munich became known as the White Rose and boldly distributed leaflets demanding that Hitler "return to us the personal freedom which is the most valuable possession of each German, and of which he has cheated us in the lowest possible manner.

Scientific studies show that many young people have difficulty seeing the significance of Marxist-Leninist knowledge for their own behavior. The young state is still defending itself with all its strength and resources against foreign intervention. The numerous references to the literature will guide the reader to a deeper study.

What is most important is that there always be agreement between the material previously presented by the propagandist and the evaluation that follows.

The organization is not random. She was 10 years old when she watched the SS march through her town on the way to invading Poland, and 16 at the end of the second world war, when her family ran from the advancing Soviet army. The entire teaching profession throughout Germany, from elementary schools to university level, had been purged of Jewish instructors and anyone deemed politically suspect, regardless of their proven teaching abilities or achievements, including 20 past and future Nobel Prize winners.

However, it had no real power and was little more than an adjunct to the far more important ZR secretariat. Afterwards, large numbers of the FDJ's membership were imprisoned.

One of his replacements, Gunter Schoss, was similarly forced out of the cast.

Free German Youth

It is a youth that daily proves its will to achieve, its sense of responsibility in its work, in its education, and in the defense of the homeland. And also the 'unwanted language' is still a big issue for most modern editions.

Taking their fashion cues, music and icons from the West, they rapidly came into conflict with a didactic and highly controlling party-state.

On the night of May 10,an event unseen in Europe since the Middle Ages occurred as German students from universities once regarded as among the finest in the world, gathered in Berlin to burn books with "unGerman" ideas. Going about stealing stuff was seen as a problem…. This must be made clear to young people.Oct 28,  · Concerned by the effect that could have on the youth of the GDR, the state film studio created its own secret agent to fight the Cold War on the other side of the Iron Curtain.

They do state that the book is not written as a defence of the GDR but more as an explanation as to why people miss elements of it.

The authors cover a variety of topics from women’s rights to youth in the GDR, and go on to detail the social accomplishments the people of the GDR managed to achieve under Stalinist rule.
